I am Josefin Nilsson Tuoremaa, a Swedish figurative artist working primarily in acrylic on canvas.

My interest in people first led me to study behavioural science and later to a career in Human Resources. Throughout my work and personal experiences, I became increasingly fascinated by the traces life leaves behind. The experiences we carry, the emotions we rarely express, and the stories that quietly shape who we are.

That fascination naturally found its way into my painting.

My work explores what can be sensed rather than explained. I am drawn to the subtle emotions revealed through a person's gaze, expression and presence. Rather than portraying a specific individual, I aim to create space for viewers to reflect on what might lie beneath the surface.

Each portrait invites questions rather than answers, encouraging the viewer to pause and consider what remains unspoken, and what every person carries within.
